Dubai has held the global spotlight for its city-building in the last decade. It’s created an urban skyline where only desert existed before. But in recent years, Doha has embarked on an urban development plan of its own as it hopes to nearly triple its population by creating new urban centers, shopping areas and financial districts. Boosted by natural gas, the Qatari economy is growing and its continued expansion means needed work for the world’s construction firms. Here is a story I wrote about a few of those Doha developments.
